Composition & Mechanism

• Type: One-component film galvanising system (not ordinary paint).

• Zinc Content in Dry Film: ~96% by weight.

• Zinc Purity: ~99.995%.

• Protection: Provides both active cathodic protection (like hot-dip galvanizing) and passive barrier protection.

• Density: ~2.67 kg/dm³.

• Solids Content: ~80% by weight, ~58% by volume.

• Thinner: Zingasolv.

• Flash Point: 40°C – 60°C.

• VOC: ~474 g/L.

Dry Film Properties

• Colour: Matt metallic grey (darkens with exposure).

• Temperature Resistance: –40°C to +120°C (short peaks up to 150°C).

• pH Resistance:

  • Immersion: pH 5.5 – 9.5.

  • Atmospheric: pH 3.5 – 12.5.

• UV Resistance: Excellent.

• Toxicity: Non-toxic, safe for potable water contact.

Application & Thickness

• Application Methods: Brush, roller, spray, or aerosol (Zingaspray).

• Typical Thickness:

  • Standalone system: 2 × 60 µm (up to 2 × 90 µm for severe environments).

  • Duplex system (with topcoat): 60 – 80 µm single coat.

• Maintenance: Can be overcoated directly; new Zinga reactivates the old layer.

• Stripe Coats: Recommended on edges, welds, bolts.

• Available Sizes: 1 kg, 2 kg, 5 kg, 10 kg, 25 kg, and aerosols.

• Shelf Life:

  • Bulk tins: Unlimited if unopened and stored cool/dry (shake every 3 years).

  • Aerosol: 5 years unopened.

Safety Notes

• Hazards: Flammable (solvent-based).

• Health Risks: Vapours may cause dizziness, skin/eye irritation, respiratory effects.

• Environmental Risks: Toxic to aquatic life — must dispose of properly.
