The Value of Product Warrant
It is often necessary to reassure a customer about the product they intend to buy or have bought. This minimizes or eliminates anxiety that occasionally comes with certain purchases especially those of high cost.
What is Warranty?
Britannica online defines warranty as “a promise or guarantee made by a seller or lessor about the characteristics or quality of property, goods, or services.”
Manufacturers have long used warranty to reassure buyers about the quality of goods or services offered. A warranty shows that manufacturers shall stand by their product and that if it fails they will either replace it or repair it.
A warranty is therefore a written guarantee issued to the purchaser of an item by the manufacturer through the retailer, promising to repair or replace the item if necessary within a specified period of time.
Why is warranty important?
- A warranty is important for it assures you that the things you buy are of good quality and don’t contain manufacturing defects.
- A warranty also gives a consumer the right to ask the manufacture to deal with any issues according to the terms and conditions of the purchase contract
- A warranty increases consumer confidence in the product

POWER TOOLS
“Robert Bosch Tool Corporation warrants to the original purchaser that all BOSCH portable and benchtop power tools will be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one year from date of purchase. Seller’s sole obligation and your exclusive remedy under this Limited Warranty and to the extent permitted by law, any warranty or condition implied by law, shall be the repair or replacement of parts, without charge which are defective in material or workmanship and which have not been misused, carelessly handled, or mis repaired by persons other than the authorized service station
THIS LIMITED WARRANTY DOES NOT APPLY TO ACCESSORY ITEMS SUCH AS CIRCULAR SAW BLADES, DRILL BITS, ROUTER BITS, JIGSAW BLADES, SANDING BELTS, GRINDING WHEELS AND OTHER RELATED ITEMS.
LASER AND MEASURING TOOLS
Robert Bosch Tool Corporation warrants to the original purchaser that all Bosch lasers and measuring tools will be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one year from date of purchase. Bosch will extend warranty coverage to two years when you register your product within eight weeks after date of purchase. Product registration card must be complete and given to the sale attendant in the shop, within eight weeks after date of purchase. DEWALT WARRANTY PACKAGES
3 YEAR LIMITED WARRANTY
For all DEWALT products stating they come with a 3-year limited warranty, 1-year free service contract. DEWALT will repair, without charge, any defects due to faulty materials or workmanship for three years from the date of purchase. This warranty is extended only to the original end-user purchaser of the product. This warranty does not cover part failure due to normal wear or tool abuse. DEWALT cannot control the quality of products sold by unauthorized sellers, this warranty applies only if the product was purchased from DEWALT or a DEWALT authorized seller, unless otherwise prohibited by law. DEWALT reserves the right to reject warranty claims for products purchased from unauthorized sellers, including unauthorized internet sites. This warranty does not apply to accessories or damage caused where repairs have been made or attempted by others. Proof of purchase showing when and where you purchased the product may be required.
In addition to the warranty, DEWALT tools are covered by our: One-Year Free Service Contract. DEWALT will maintain the tool and replace worn parts caused by normal use, for free, any time during the first year after purchase. Because DEWALT cannot control the quality of products sold by unauthorized sellers, the One-Year Free Service Contract applies only if the product was purchased from DEWALT or a DEWALT authorized seller, unless otherwise prohibited by law
7 YEAR LIMITED LIABILITY WARRANTY
For all DEWALT products stating they come with a 7-year limited warranty, 1-year free service contract. DEWALT will repair, without charge, any defects due to faulty materials or workmanship for seven years from the date of purchase. This warranty is extended only to the original end-user purchaser of the product. This warranty does not cover part failure due to normal wear or tool abuse.
DEWALT HAND TOOLS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
DEWALT warrants each DEWALT hand tool product which states that it comes with a limited lifetime warranty to the original end-user purchaser for as long as the original end-user purchaser owns the product (not to exceed one year for products with electrical or electronic components) against deficiencies in material and workmanship. This LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY does not cover products that are improperly used, abused, or altered, or damaged due to improper repair. Deficient products will be replaced or repaired.
STANLEY PRODUCTS WARRANTY PACKAGES
TAPE MEASURES LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
STANLEY Tools warrants tape measures against deficiencies in material and workmanship for the useful life of the tool. STANLEY Tools is not responsible for damage resulting from excessive wear, misuse, abuse, damage from accident or alteration of this product. Where permitted by law, STANLEY is not responsible for accidental or consequential damages. STANLEY tape measures are inspected and tested before shipment and are believed to be free from defects in workmanship and material.
HAND TOOLS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
STANLEY warrants this product for its useful life (not to exceed one year for products with electrical or electronic components) against deficiencies in material and workmanship. This LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY does not cover products that are improperly used, abused, altered or repaired, nor does it cover consumable good such as knife blades, glue sticks, etc. If found to be defective, a replacement will be sent to you. THIS LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY EXCLUDES ALL INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.
MAKITA WARRANTY PACKAGES
GENERAL PRODUCT LIMITED WARRANTY
Every Makita® product is warranted to be free of defects from workmanship and materials for the period of ONE YEAR from the date of original purchase. Certain products referenced below have longer warranties. Should any trouble develop during the one-year period, return the tool to one of Makita’s Factory or Authorized Service Center. If inspection shows the trouble is caused by defective workmanship or material, Makita will repair or replace without charge.
MAKITA WARRANTY LIMITATIONS AND EXCLUSIONS
These warranties do not apply to Makita Accessories or where:
- Repairs have been made or attempted by others
- Repairs are required because of normal wear and tear. With regard to Pneumatic Nailers, normal wear parts include the following and are not covered under this warranty: piston/driver assemblies, piston stops, driver blades, rubber o-rings, seals, isolators, air filters, and driver belts.
- The tool has been abused, misused, improperly maintained or operated. With regard to Pneumatic Nailers, improper operation includes the failure to use clean, dry regulated compressed air and/or air pressures exceeding the maximum indicated on the nailer casting. With regard to Lithium-Ion Tools, improper operation includes the use of a non-genuine or “knock-off” battery on a Lithium-Ion Tool or Charger. With regard to Laser Instruments, abuse includes liquid damage or physical damage caused by impact.
- Alterations have been made to the tool
BLACK AND DECKER WARRANTY PACKAGES
1 YEAR LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY
BLACK+DECKER warranties to the original end-user purchaser that BLACK+DECKER products stating they come with a one-year limited warranty will be free from defects in material or workmanship for a period of one year following the date of purchase, provided that the product is used in a home environment. Because BLACK+DECKER cannot control the quality of products sold by unauthorized sellers, this limited warranty applies only if this product was purchased from BLACK+DECKER or a BLACK+DECKER authorized seller, unless otherwise prohibited by law.
BLACK+DECKER reserves the right to reject warranty claims for products purchased from unauthorized sellers, including unauthorized internet sites.
INGCO WARRANTY ON PRODUCTS
INGCO warrants its products to be free from defects in workmanship and materials, under normal use and conditions, a period of one (1) year is provided from the time of purchase.
